To add new job card give Menu Command Job Card Record. A window will be displayed for Job Card Record Entry. The various details about the job card like Description, Engine #, Colour, Owner, Reg. No. Sale Date, Speedo Reading, Average etc. can be entered in the text boxes which are labeled accordingly. You can enter here New Service, Coupon #, job card, date in,date out, time in time out.. These data fields or text boxes bound to the Data Control linked to product information database. As you will click one of the four buttons on the data control you will see the text displayed in the bound text boxes change accordingly. To add new job card press command button Add New Job Card. The various data field of the job card record will become empty so that you can enter a new record and heading of this command button will be changed as Update Record .. Now you can start typing the appropriate information in the text boxes. To move from one text box / field to another use Tab and Shift Tab keys on the keyboard or use mouse. Start by selecting the name of the customer or the registration number of the vehicle to be serviced. When you select a name or Reg. No. from the list then the other details of the vehicle and person are fetched from the vehicle record. Previous service record of the vehicle is also filled in automatically. Select one of the service type from the drop down list. The first few services may be provided free or under special terms by the manufacturer. Enter the service related information like if service chargeable then click Chargeable button and enter other detail like coupon #, job card #, date in, date out, time in, time out etc. in the given boxes if they are applicable. You can also fill in the spares used during service under tab "Spares / Job Work". This information will also be used to create the bill for service. The Repair List and deficiency report for each job card can also be filled in. When you have finished entering the record then you can enter another record or do something else. To save your record automatically Tick check box Save All Changes Automatically. If you have not done so you will press command button Update Record and you will get following messages : "Commit Changes?". If you want to save the record then answer Yes to the above message. To add another record press command button Add Record. To close product record press command button Close. An attempt to close the job card record or to move to new record when the text boxes are all empty (null values) will not be allowed. To come out of it move the data control to a new record and close.
