Configure Printers Configure Printers For Use With Program, Printers : Configure

When you run the program for the first time after installation the printers installed with your computer will be detected and configured for use with the program. When the printer and its fonts information shall be displayed and applied. If you want to modify this information give menu command Confgure Printers under main menu Utilities.
All the configured printers shall be shown in the window. For each printer you can define the following:
1. Select option between Dot Matrix Printer an Laser/Ink Jet Printer. Dot matrix printer can print using fast dot matrix fonts. Only the printer that support dot matrix fonts can be defined as dot matrix printer.
2. Paper Orientation from choices of : Portrait and Landscape
3. Set the printer as default printer.
4. Set printer fonts for use with the program.
The available fonts for that printer shall be displayed in the drop down lists marked Font 1, Font 2 and Font 3 . For a dot matrix printer you can only select from the gray colour dot matrix printing fonts.
If you desire fast printing then please use a dot matrix printer. When you configure printers your printer shall be detected if it has dot matrix fonts. Dot matrix fonts are only available on dot matrix printer (DMP) or a line printer. the check box Produce Fast Print Output in the Print Dialogue shall be checked if you using a dot matrix printer. You can use this when you have installed a DOT matrix printer. You must also select three fonts as given below:
Font 1 : To be used for Header of the reports which displays the main body of the font. The size is selected automatically. You can change the name of the font.
Font 2 : Normal Size font name to be used for main body of the report. which displays the main body of the font. The size is selected automatically. You can change the name of the font. For dot matrix printers the suitable values shall be shown in the drop down list for selection. For Ink Jet or Laser Priners a suitable value for the font is Arial. For Dot Matrix Printers set Font2 = Roman12 cpi or Draft 12cpi, Font3 = Roman 17cpi or SanSerif 17 cpi. These are cpi fonts and a newer font like courier new can also be used.
Font 3 : Compressed Size font name to be used for main body of the report. which displays the main body of the font. The size is selected automatically. You can change the name of the font. For Ink Jet or Laser Priners a suitable value for the font is Arial Narrorw. For Dot Matrix Printers set Font2 = Roman12 cpi or Draft 12cpi, Font3 = Roman 17cpi or SanSerif 17 cpi. These are cpi fonts and a newer font like courier new can also be used.
Please note fast printing only works when you have selected dot matrix fonts. Window based graphics have much better print quality and the printing is slower. For this printing on dot matrix printer set your DMP as laser/ink jet printer and you shall be able to print using the selectable graphic fonts. A dot matrix printer can also print in graphic mode and therefore it can also be defined as Laser/Ink Printer for the use with program so that graphic fonts can be used.
Press command button marked Configure Printers to access the function from this print Dialougue Print Dialogue .
If you want to cancel printing press command button CANCEL . If you want to go ahead with settings press command button OK . You can apply the seeting or save them using the command button Apply . If you want to reconfigure the printer using the deafalt values press the command button marked Restore Defaults .
