Barcoding setting can be made by giving the menu command general configuration and then select Tab marked Barcoding. The following screen will appear:

You can enable or disable barcoding using the check box marked Disable Barcoding. When barcoding is not enabled the data scanned into the program will not be interpreted or acted upon by the program. However you can still scan data into various fields of the program.

Lower case letters have twice the size of normal barcode and are not implemented in the program. However you can print your own barcodes with lower case using the check box marked Allow Lower Case Letters. This will allow you to enter Lower case letters in bar codes.

To Print Barcodes in Invoice / Memo you must check the option Print Barcodes in Invoice / Memo. This will print transaction number and date in the barcode. If you want to disable the date field or the second field then uncheck the option Display Second Field in the menu item Barcode label Printing Utility.

If you want to print customer, supplier or the party name in the transaction printout like invoice, cutomer return memo etc. the check the option marked Print Party Barcode.

To print barcode code for each product in the invoice and other transactions check the option marked Print Product Barcode in Invoice. This will allow you to use this printout as the checklist for items during shipment. You can check if the goods are sent to correct place by matching the invoice number and customer code and you can also match the bar code of each product item to ensure that each item in the invoice is dispatched.

Set the bar code font height by specifying a value in text box marked Bar Code Font Height.

In the invoice and memo the barcode font height is kept to .5 cm a normal standard for such bar code. Here this setting is for the transactions and should be set at 0.5 or a value of your choice. Taller barcodes are easy to scan and it can be scanned in fast swipe. So while printing labels etc. you can use a taller bar code font and you can specify height upto 3 cms in bar code label printing Utility. Though a normal font height for labels could be 1.75 cms and these shall be fairly easy to scan in fast swipes.

 Sample Barcode Printing

Give a value in the text field marked Sample text to be bar coded and then press the command button marked Print Barcode Sample to print it to the printer.
