Setting up date and time

Setting up date and time is important because the system date and time is used as the current date at many places in the program. Give Menu command Set System Date under main menu heading Utility to open up date and time window. This window shows current date as already set in the system. You can modify the date and time if you like. To change date press command buttons + and - to increase or decrease the day, month or year value. Hitech Financial Accounting recognizes date in format dd/mm/yyyy. Make sure in Windows the default date format is set to DMY (day, month, year). Use control panel to change this format.
To change the time from this window click on the time showing in the window in the format of HH:MM:SS. Delete this time and enter correct time in the same format with the keyboard.
After setting of current date or time press command button Set Date or if you do not want to save the changes press command button Cancel .
Important
When you start the program you will get a message like the following to alert you to check you default date format:
'93Today' Date: 25-August-2007 is shown as: 25/08/2007 as per Date settings in Regional Options of your computer for Date/Time. Date format can be set using Window's Control Panel.
Therefore, when you enter date in the program enter in the format: 25/08/2007. Note that by default Windows's date may be in MM/DD/YYYY format. If Date 25/08/2007 is not same as Date: 25-August-2007 then set the date format in Windows Control Panel >> Regional Settings. If you enter date wrongly the demo may expire prematurely before 30 days.
If date format is MM/DD/YYYY (Windows default) and you enter date like 08/12/2007 then it shall be interpreted as 12-Aug-2007 and not 8-Dec-2007.'94
Once you have set the correct Date format as indicated above please tick the check box marked I have Set the date format correctly. Once you set the check the above message will no longer display.
To set date format go to Windows control panel and then chose Regional Option and then choose Date/Time Setting. Default date seeting in Windows is MM/dd/YY.
